Two poetry events in town Saturday
Spend quality time with a poet at the Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop at the Museum of Northwest Art Nov 18. It starts at 1 p.m. Washington state poet laureate Tod Marshall is the instructor. There is a fee.
At 6 p.m. Marshall will be in Maple Hall to share a reading of his anthology “WA 129.”

Fishtown, local art history, mysticism and community discussed
The topic of former Fishtown artists, and their discussing “living off the grid,” both then and now, brought a crowd of over 60 people to the Skagit County Historical Museum Nov. 11. Artists and audience filled the room that the featured exhibit, “In the Valley of Mystic Light,” occupies.
