A Sampler of Work
Fidalgo Island Quilters Guild
February 3 - March 28.-21
Just across the Swinomish Channel from La Conner lies beautiful Fidalgo Island. Stretching from Deception Pass on the south to the Anacortes Ferry Dock on the north end, and encompassing the entirety of the Swinomish Reservation, Fidalgo Island is home to stunning trees, lakes, shorelines, and quite a number of creative people.
Fidalgo Island Quilters Guild (FIQ), centered in Anacortes, is an eclectic group of Skagit County (and beyond) quilters who gather together to learn about and celebrate textiles. They include traditional quilters, modern quilters, art quilters and garment designers. This exhibit is just a sample of the variety of work that this active guild produces. At 100+ members strong, their interests and styles cover a lot of territory. Their biennial guild show, to be held next in 2022, is a not-to-be-missed event!
With their close proximity to the Museum, it’s no surprise that many of our volunteers here are FIQ members. It’s a group that we are very proud to be associated with. We thank them for their ongoing support and for being our first Guild Partners!
