Monday March 3

10:04 a.m.: Boat grounded – A sailboat got stuck in shallow water nearGoat Island as the tide was going out. They captain was contacted by radio and said they were fine, and would wait for the tide to come back in and free them.

Tuesday March 4

5:48 a.m.: Arrest – A person in La Conner called aCalifornia law enforcement agency and seemed confused, so they alerted the local Sheriff’s office to go check on him. Deputies would up arresting him on two outstanding warrants from Skagit Count District Court.

6:18 p.m.: Oops! – Someone trying to call the front desk at a complex onNorth First Street in La Conner wound up dialing 911 instead.

Wednesday March 5

5:37 a.m.: Burglary – Somebody broke into the espresso stand near the Shell Station on Hwy 20 andLa Conner Whitney Road north of La Conner overnight. The deputies have video surveillance tapes to look at.

6:17 p.m.: Hmm... – The driver of a white SUV was trying to flag down passing motorists on theRainbowBridge in La Conner, but they were gone when deputies arrived.

8:11 p.m.: Traffic hazard – It rained and someone reported water in the roadway onDodge Valley Road east of La Conner.

Thursday March 6

4:33 p.m.: Cold legs – A neighbor was worried that a resident was outside wearing shorts onCaledonia Street in La Conner. Deputies came by and saw the person in shorts was an adult who was exercising.

Saturday March 8

8:56 p.m.: Suspicious – There was a report that a vehicle was at a closed business at Rexville Grocery. It turned out it was someone living nearby.

Sunday March 9

10:33 a.m.: Gunshots – Someone heard ten gunshots in the area ofFirIsland and Dike roads nearConway but didn’t see any people or vehicles in the area. A deputy didn’t find anyone either.

1:32 p.m.: Vehicle prowl – A person had been prowling through a woman’s vehicle while she was at church inConway and she returned home to news form a neighbor that someone in a red Honda had been in her driveway. There was no evidence of a burglary.

2:47 p.m.: Malicious mischief – The street signs at Reservation and Stevenson roads north of Swinomish were moved.

Monday March 10

7:45 a.m.: Theft – Construction materials were stolen fromConwayElementary School over the weekend.

8:04 a.m.: Worried neighbor – A neighbor was concerned that all the blinds were closed at the home of an elderly La Conner resident who is usually an early riser. But everything was fine, the resident was up when deputies arrived – just getting used to daylight saving time.
