Todd Allyn Wilbur, 55, a longtime resident of Skagit County died on the Swinomish Reservation at age 55 on Monday, November 17.

He was born in Pasco, Washington on November 12, 1959. He is survived by his parents, Gwynn (Jones) Amaro and Dave Wilbur, Sr.

Todd graduated from Eisen-hower High School with the class of 1978 and earned his AA degree from Bellingham Technical School.

In 1982 he was hired by the Swinomish Tribal Community as a wildlife game manager and worked there for 31 years. Hunting has always been an essential part of our Swinomish culture as a way to provide nourishment for our bodies.

Todd was instrumental in protecting our treaty rights, and he helped to increase the Nooksack elk herd from 300 to 800 elk in 2010. He was also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, marksmanship, watching football, gun collecting, and was an avid history buff.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Susan Edwards Wilbur, who he married at the Swinomish Yacht Club on March 3, 1983, and also his grandparents and his granddaughter, Rachel Bobb.

Todd is survived by his brothers, Dave Wilbur, Jr., Norman Wilbur, Eleazar Wilbur Salinas; his sisters, Leslie Reneé Wilbur, Elizabeth Wilbur, Laura Wilbur; his son James Bobb; his daughter, Brenda Bobb Williams; his granddaughters, Siomi Bobb, Kiana Williams and Alexis Bobb; his grandsons, Ronald Williams III, James Bobb, Jr., and Masen Williams.

Services were held at Swino-mish last Thursday and Friday, followed by burial at the Swinomish Tribal Community Cemetery.
