    The 113th Annual Skagit County Pioneer Association Picnic and General Meeting is on August 3 at La Conner’s Pioneer Park. The celebration includes live music, an old car show, and historic pictures recognizing the Honored Families. Many “old-timers” are expected.   • Voices in Spanish leave a La Conner legacy

    Five Spanish-speaking families are being featured at the Skagit County Historical Museum with its new exhibit, “Voces Del Valle,” which means, “Voices of the Valley.” One, the Hernandez family, established themselves in the 1940s in La Conner, raising nine children, all of whom graduated from La Conner High School.
