    When the stars come out, patrons of the La Conner Regional Library will soon be able to see them much more clearly, weather permitting. Library card holders can check out this telescope, thanks to a donation by the Island County Astronomical Society.     Since 1999, La Conner’s working parents have depended on the Boys & Girls Club for a place to send their kids after school. Conveniently located on the La Conner schools campus, right behind the administration building, the club serves 50 to 60 local elementary and middle school kids every afternoon. Phyllis was born on June 23, 1938 in Greenwich, CT to James and Mary Montanaro. She married Robert L. Hunt on January 11, 1958 in Clifford, Pennsylvania.     Lifelong Skagit Valley resident Eleanore M. Hedbom, 84, died at her home in Burlington on Thursday, October 8 following a long battle with diabetes and heart disease. Eleanore was born March 13, 1931 in Burlington to Earl and Lorraine Reed. She attended school in Burlington and graduated with the class of 1949.     Charles Howard Paul, a lifelong resident of Swinomish, died at age 77 on Sunday, Oct. 11. Charlie was born July 12, 1938 in Mount Vernon, the son of John and Rebecca Edge Paul. Charlie graduated from La Conner High School in 1957. He retired from working maintenance for the Swinomish Tribe after 20 years. He also worked for 23 years at the Texaco refinery at Anacortes.
