Barbara L. Groves, 80, of La Conner, died on Monday, November 30 at Island Hospital, in Anacortes, WA, with her sister by her side. She was born on May 21, 1935, in San Bernardino, California, the daughter of Donald and Helen Condit Dunlap. Barbara was a very talented lady, who had a wonderful artistic eye. The La Conner School Board met Monday and is expected to call for a special election in February to ask voters to approve more than $1 million in taxes to take effect in 2017.
