Help reduce feral cat population

In the six years that I’ve lived in La Conner, I have grown more and more concerned about the rising number of feral cats. I have lived here since second grade and am now going into eighth grade. I have tried to resolve this problem on my own in the past, but funding has always been an obstacle. If we do nothing, these cats will continue to reproduce and make their homes under your homes, digging holes in gardens and causing trouble for us all.
The best solution I have come up with is to rescue, rehabilitate and release the ferals after they have been fixed. This would solve the problem providing each and every cat is caught, because they would no longer be able to reproduce after being fixed.
This process would involve setting up humane traps that capture, but not hurt the cats in any way. Once we have caught them, we would bring them to a place in Stanwood called NOAH. They spay/neuter animals for free and have agreed to fix the ferals once they have been caught.
The problem is NOAH can’t afford to lend out traps for free, which is why I need donations. Each trap has a $50 lenders fee: when the trap is returned, so is the money. Since there is no easy way to return the donations, the money would be donated to the shelter itself to ensure your kindness is put forth into the community.
Any kittens under the age of 10 months will find their new homes in a no-kill shelter, and any cats older than 10 months will be spayed/neutered and released back into the wild.
I’m writing this in the hopes of raising awareness and donations for a growing problem within our community.
If you wish to donate to this cause, please send the money to the address below. If you can at all afford to help, your effort towards preserving this wonderful community will be greatly appreciated by many.
Thank you for your time and your consideration of this local problem.
