4/13/1947 - 1/1/2019
Linda was born in Vancouver Washington to Alvina and Kenneth Mansigh. She went to WSU where she met Rod, her husband of 48 years and graduated with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. In 1970 Linda was married and in 1971 her daughter Hilary was born. While her husband Rod served as a Navy pilot, Linda spent time raising her daughter, working in restaurants, and becoming very successful in real estate. After settling in LaConner, Linda decided to put her degree and passion for cooking to use and opened the LaConner Calico Cupboard in 1981. Her passion, hard work and talents lead her to open two more Calico Cupboards as well as Seeds Bistro and Bar and Re-Feather Your Nest. Besides accomplishing so much with her businesses (including winning business woman of the year), Linda pursued other passions. She has hiked to the Mount Everest Base camp, climbed Mount Rainier twice (once in one day) and ran marathons. At age 50 she bought her first horse and without any previous experience, became very successful at competitive cutting horse shows. In addition to her love for horses, Linda loved to hike, loved to dance and throw a good party, loved animals and competition, and loved spending time with good company and her family. A celebration of her life will be held March 9 at Maple Hall in LaConner att 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Linda would have preferred donations to Wounded Warriors, ASPCA or Hospice.
