1:41: Bike theft – Somebody stole several bicycles from a rental company onMorris Street in La Conner. It is possible they were taken for a joy ride and dumped somewhere. If you find a stray bicycle, contact the La Conner deputies.
4:24 p.m.: Construction mayhem – An elderly driver ignored flaggers working in the construction zone at the new roundabout being built inConway.
Wednesday June 11
2:44 p.m.: Who’s there? – A stranger was knocking on the door of a residence onNorth Sixth Street in La Conner. A deputy contacted them and discovered they were looking for the property owner, not the person living there.
Thursday June 12
8:38 a.m.: Big birds –Turkeys were running around in the neighborhood of Valentine andDodgeValley roads. Being a loose turkey is not a crime inSkagitCounty.
8:52 p.m.: Go now! – A person who had been told their services were no longer needed turned up again at a residence in La Conner. Deputies explained that meant they had to go away and stay gone.
Friday June 13
11:32 a.m.: Brother battle – A fellow told a State Patrol trooper at that 76 Station inConway that he’d been in some kind of dispute with his brother, but when deputies arrived he refused to provide details and said he didn’t want to get his brother in trouble. Deputies didn’t see any injuries and the guy wouldn’t say where his brother was, so he was sent on his way.
10:13 p.m.: Irate visitors – A couple staying at a nice lodging facility in La Conner got into an argument.
Saturday June 14
8:23 a.m.: Hmm – Somebody at the 76 Station inConway told deputies his car was stolen, but then didn’t want to give anymore details and left the area.
4:01 p.m.: Impaired driver – There was a report of a drunk driver onFir Island Road nearConway. Deputies were not in the area at the time.
Sunday June 15
6:45 p.m.: Rock on – Neighbors complained about noise coming from a popular tavern onMorris Street in La Conner. There was live music and the doors were open. Problem solved when deputies asked them to close the doors.
Monday June 16
2:05 a.m.: Kayak runner – A person was seen running down Road Street in La Conner carrying a kayak, which they put in a truck and drove off. By Monday afternoon, nobody had reported a missing kayak.
8:49 a.m.: 911 hang up – There was a 911 call from La Conner School District, but no problem was found.
