Tuesday July 15
1:16 p.m.: Hot dog – A report of a dog left in a car on a hot day near First and Morris streets in La Conner, but deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.
3:09 p.m.: Mad motorcyclist – Deputies were alerted to a motorcyclist who was driving erratically onFir Island Road nearConway. They contacted a frustrated motorcycle operator who had been trying to ward other drivers who were tailgating him by moving toward the center line during vehicle passes. He was cautioned that driving in a responsible manner is his obligation as much as it is for other drivers.
6:55 p.m.: Locked in – Someone was locked inside the gate at the end ofConner Way in La Conner, even though the gate, which leads to a shipyard, is clearly marked with times it opens and closes. They were let out.
Thursday July 17
2:16 p.m.: Dog tired – Someone reported seeing a dirty, tired looking dog onCaledonia Street in La Conner.
Friday July 18
10:36 p.m.:Midnight runners – A La Conner resident reported an inordinate amount of foot and vehicle traffic in town for such late hours. It turned out to be runners and support vehicles for the Ragnar relay race, which comes through La Conner in the late night and early morning hours once every summer.
10:40 p.m.: Bad scene – A person reported seeing a man hitting a woman, even while she was on the ground, near the Conway Pub inConway. The assailant then picked up the woman and left in a vehicle. Deputies checked the area, and talked to other witnesses, but they were unable to locate the guy and the license plate number provided was incomplete and of little help.
Saturday July 19
12:30 a.m.: Returned – Equipment loaned to the Town ofLa Conner was left at the Sheriff’s station because Town Hall wasn’t open at midnight.
3:30 a.m.: Dried out – A runner in the Ragnar Race was at the La Conner Middle School gym suffering from dehydration.
7:20 a.m.: Dreaming? – Somebody woke up near the La Conner Marina confused about where they were and got in an argument with someone about it. They eventually figured out their location and went on their way.
10:28 p.m.: Soccer fear – A security guard was concerned about kids playing soccer at the soccer field atConwaySchool. They were advised that it was an acceptable practice for the area.
Sunday July 20
6:37 p.m.: Phone harassment – Someone in La Conner wanted to talk to a deputy about phone calls.
