Tuesday July 29

8:10 a.m.: Ahoy Muttley! – A stray dog was wandering the docks at La Conner Marina.

8:56 a.m.: Vehicle prowl – A boater returned to find electronics and tools stolen from his vehicle parked near La Conner Marina.

2:16 p.m.: Fender bender – Misjudgment in parking caused a crunch in the parking lot near Calico Cupboard in La Conner.

Wednesday July 30

8:55 a.m.: Agency assist – The Sheriff’s Office put out a bulletin in La Conner and everywhere else in the county to be on the lookout for missingOregon woman, Jennifer Huston and her vehicle.

2:21 p.m.: Godzilla snack? – Somebody saw goats tied to a tree at Best and Valentine Roads near Pleasant Ridge.

5:03 p.m.: Angry hitchhiker – A motorist dropped off a hitchhiker at the 76 Station inConway. Apparently the hitchhiker had made threats to stab his benefactor and the good Samaritan thought and thought they’d better let folks at the gas station know that the guy seemed angry.

6:22 p.m.: Helping out – A highly intoxicated person was picked up by a deputy near Pioneer Highway and Fir Island Road in Conway and given a ride home.

Thursday July 31

3:24 p.m.: Lost car – A boater at La Conner Marina reported that his vehicle was missing. Deputies helped him search for it, because a lot of times reported vehicle thefts in La Conner turn out to be unfounded because the driver just forgot where they parked. This time, the owner called back a little while later; the remembered their vehicle had been moved to a marina in Anacortes.

4:23 p.m.: Parking mishap – A driver ran over a concrete barrier and high-centered their vehicle in a parking lot onMorris Street in La Conner. A deputy helped them get free.

5:05 p.m.: Strange behavior – A very intoxicated man walked into the La Conner Retirement Inn, mistaking the residential establishment for a restaurant. He was directed toward the local eateries.

9:38 p.m.: No more booze – The same man who wanted to eat at the Retirement Inn turned up at The Pantry onMorris Street in La Conner, where they refused to serve him alcohol, but provided a meal and water. Deputies tried to help him find his boat, but were unsuccessful. So a taxi was called to take him where he said he wanted to go.

Friday August 1

12:44 a.m.: Same guy – Deputies found the man who had been to the Retirement Inn and to The Pantry sleeping in the flower beds at La Conner Marina. This time he was given a ride to a hospital.

Saturday August 2

9:19 a.m.: Locked out – A resident didn’t have a key to their home onReservation Road in Anacortes after their roommate had been arrested.

11:06 a.m.: Up in Smoke – A landlord was upset about marijuana and drug use at a building they own nearGilkey Square in La Conner.

10:27 p.m.: Stolen bike – Someone saw a person ride off on a bicycle that had been left near Nell Thorn Restaurant in La Conner for four days. When confronted by the reporting party, the cyclist explicitly said they didn’t want to talk about it.

Sunday August 3

11:36 p.m.: Suspicious – Deputies found an open window at La Conner Post Office and attempted to close it.
