Ashlyn Reinstra and her boyfriend Austin Keyes at the 5K fun run held in her honor on Sunday.
Ashlyn is recovering after an 8-month battle beating an aggressive leukemia, and the La Conner community came together with
fundraisers to help her family recover from the financial impacts of her successful cancer fight.
Debbie Grant, with the La Conner Booster Club, said 465 runners participated on Sunday, and there were more than 60 volunteers, including the Kiwanis. Grant said the donation tally is not in yet, but organizers believe the event surpassed expectations.
