Monday Oct 20

3:26 p.m.: Big tickets – Vehicles were double parked in a spot designated for handicapped drivers. Illegally blocking a spot reserved for disabled drivers carries a $450 fine.

8:04 p.m.: Feathers everywhere – A driver struck an owl onBest Road near Pleasant Ridge. The owl apparently survived, since it flew away.

Tuesday Oct 21

8:45 a.m.: Oops! – The construction crew accidently set off an alarm at a business onFir Island Road inConway.

2:22 p.m.: Harassment – A bicyclist stopped at the church inConway to use the restroom, but became agitated and then left.

Wednesday Oct 22

11:14 a.m.: Hollering – People were yelling at each other at the Benton Street Stairs connecting First and Second streets in La Conner. But they were gone when deputies looked for them.

8:27 p.m.: Catch & Keep – A person in La Conner was arrested for the second time on a second warrant for driving on a suspended license and this time took a trip to jail.

9:24 p.m.: Car down – A woman’s vehicle broke down onFir Island Road nearConway and she was making arrangements for someone to come and get it.

Thursday Oct 23

10:54 a.m.: Old gun – An owner brought their very old shotgun into the Sheriff’s station in La Conner requesting that it be destroyed.

3:48 p.m.: Domestic assault – A mother and daughter went to the Mount Vernon Police to report that they had found the man who is the woman’s husband and daughter’s father with another woman in La Conner’sPioneerPark. The teenage daughter tried to assault the other woman but was kicked in self defense. Mom then joined in to the fight defending her daughter. The other woman never reported the incident.

10 p.m.: Whew! Didn’t jump – A person was picked up atDeceptionPassBridge and transported for counseling over what was reported as a suicide attempt.

Friday Oct 24

1:30 p.m.: Big ticket – A driver who was stopped for speeding onSouth Fourth Street near the north end ofPioneerPark in La Conner also had a suspended license.

Saturday Oct 25

11:22 a.m.: Potty nappers – Two people found sleeping in the public restroom onMorris Street in La Conner were given rides home.

12:50 p.m.: Helping out – An Arizona law enforcement agency asked for help in locating someone they thought might be from the La Conner area, but deputies could find no record that the person was from La Conner.

5:14 p.m.: Beer stop – A motorcyclist stopped to drink a beer at the La Conner Marina and became hostile when the reporting party confronted him. The biker was gone when deputies arrived.

9:26 p.m.: Potty party – Intoxicated people near the public restrooms onSouth First Street in La Conner were given rides home.

Sunday Oct 26

6:58 a.m.: Open door – A delivery truck driver found the door open at Calico Cupboard restaurant in La Conner. Everything was OK.

12:15 p.m.: Found bike – A white bicycle was left for several days at the La Conner Skateboard Park onNorth Sixth Street.
