8:21 p.m .: Never mind – Someone gaveRainbowBridge in La Conner as a location for a possible suicide attempt. The correct location was a home in theBurlington area.
Tuesday Dec 30
9:45 a.m .: Just FYI – A person’s car broke down at La Conner Elementary School and help was on the way. This was just a heads-up; the vehicle was not blocking the roadway.
10:35 a.m .: Little crunch – A minor collision in the parking lot at Pioneer Market in La Conner resulted in a knocked off side mirror.
10:38 a.m .: Alarm – An alarm went off at El Gitano Restaurant in La Conner. No problems.
12:44 p.m .: Bummer! – Someone lost their credit card in La Conner and had already checked every store they’d shopped in to no avail.
Thursday Jan 1
3:06 p.m .: Merchandise – There was a shopping bag full of purchases left at a shop on S. 1st Street in La Conner last November. Nobody has been back to claim it and there was nothing to go on but a credit card slip. The items were turned over to deputies, who will do a little investigation with the credit card company to determine whether the forgetful shopper can be located.
10:18 p.m .: New Year ticket – A driver of a vehicle with expired tabs was stopped on N. 1st Street in La Conner and found to be also driving on a suspended license. She was cited.
Friday Jan 2
9:11 a.m .: Fraud – A resident of Caledonia Street in La Conner said prescription drugs and a credit card were taken from a vehicle and that the credit card was used to make big purchases and that the credit card company would not provide any information.
10:07 a.m .: Trespassing boats – Two boats were given trespass notices at La Conner Marina for failing to register and pay for moorage on several occasions. That means if they do it again, they can be prosecuted.
10:29 a.m .: Mail break-ins – A locking mailbox was broken into onValentine Road on Pleasant Ridge. At least one other was reported nearby onBest Road on Monday.
11:46 a.m .: Removal – An intoxicated person needed “assistance” leaving Pioneer Market.
4:10 p.m .: Package theft – A package reported delivered to an address inConway was not received by the owner.
Saturday Jan 3
Midnight: Alarm – A door was left unsecured at La Conner High School.
11:17 a.m .: Crunch – Someone drove into a mailbox on South 4th Street in La Conner. No suspect vehicle at this time.
Sunday Jan 4
10:07 a.m .: Just counting – Someone was in a parking lot at the gas station on Hwy 20 andLa Conner Whitney Road north of La Conner counting coins. He made the employees uneasy, so he was asked to leave.
Monday Jan 5
7:07 a.m .: Off road – A driver drove off rain slick La Conner Whitney Road into a muddy field just north of La Conner and couldn’t get back onto the pavement without help. Drivers should keep in mind that it’s best to slow down in bad weather. Ice isn’t the only road danger in winter – hitting standing water and debris in the road can cause accidents, too.
