Tuesday Jan 6

4:28 p.m.: IRS Fraud – A La Conner area resident got a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS. This is a phishing scam that’s been going around lately. The IRS never phones; they send mail. Also, you can bet they already have the information the caller requests.

Wednesday Jan 7

10:51 a.m.: Shoplifting – Somebody was caught stealing a candy bar at La Conner Drug Store.

Thursday Jan 8

7:37 a.m.: Bad driver – There was a report of a vehicle being driven erratically in the area ofMorris St. andMaple Ave., in La Conner. But without license plate info, deputies were unable to track it down.

8:05 p.m.: Whoa there – In dense fog, a driver missed the stop sign at Bradshaw and Calhoun roads east of La Conner and landed in a ditch.

Friday Jan 9

7:10 p.m.: Loudmobile – OnFir Island Road in Conway, deputies noticed a vehicle with an exhaust system modifications designed to amplify the sound. They stopped the vehicle and found that the driver’s license was already suspended for an unpaid ticked. He got another ticket.

1:10 p.m.: Alarm – An alarm went off at theSkagitCountyHistoricalMuseum on the hill in La Conner. There was no problem.

Saturday Jan 10

3:33 a.m.: Suspicious – Somebody was reported to be walking around aMyrtle Street home in La Conner in the wee hours. Deputies couldn’t locate the walker.

Sunday Jan 11

12:44 p.m.: Trespassing – Hunters apparently stalked their prey into the wrong field north of La Conner.

3:23 p.m.: Warm hidey – A furry resident ofSouth Fourth Street in La Conner wasn’t really missing. The dog was just sleeping out of sight behind the clothes dryer.
