Monday March 2
11:55 a.m.: Threatening – In the neighborhood of La Conner Marina, a man was not using the most appropriate tactic in trying to get his W-2 form from a person he had dated for a week. When deputies offered to get the guy his form, he texted the reporting party that the "POS cop can jump off theDeceptionPassBridge." No actual threats were made, so deputies used a third party to get the W-2 form back to the owner.
9:35 p.m.: Big ticket – A woman driver attempted to avoid being in front of a deputy’s cruiser because she had outstanding arrest warrants. But her erratic driving on little side streets in La Conner drew attention, causing the deputy to look a little deeper. It was discovered that she also had a suspended license. The woman was cited and booked into jail on the warrants.
10:04 p.m.: No jumping – There was a report that a woman was holding the rail of the center span and looked like she was contemplating jumping off the Twin Bridges north of La Conner. But it turned out nobody jumped and nobody needed rescue.
Tuesday March 3
12:20 a.m.: Big Ticket – A driver was stopped for going 66 in a 50 miles per hour zone onFir Island Road nearConway. The deputy found that her license was also suspended. She was cited.
6 a.m.: Civil – A civil dispute was reported as a theft onTillinghast Drive in La Conner.
9:29 a.m.: Didn’t happen – A parent reported an assault, that apparently did not really occur, at La Conner Middle School.
2 p.m.: Oops! – A driver missed the break pedal and their vehicle rolled into a fence at a business onMorris Street in La Conner.
Thursday March 5
11:29 a.m.: Found bike – Someone turned in to the Sheriff’s Office a bicycle that had been found in La Conner’sPioneerPark a week earlier.
2:56 p.m.: Theft – It was discovered that sometime after Valentine’ Day someone had taken several propane heaters from a restaurant onMorris Street in La Conner.
3:01 p.m.: DUI – There was a report that a person en route to La Conner was drinking and driving, but deputies couldn’t locate the vehicle.
5:49 p.m.: Extra equine – Someone left a horse on some people’s property onDodge Valley Road near Pleasant Ridge.
Friday March 6
5:39 a.m.: DUI – Deputies couldn’t locate the vehicle reported as a possibly having a drunk driver onLa Conner Whitney Road north of La Conner.
5:51 p.m.: Found bikes – Several bikes were left behind Vintage La Conner onMorris Street in La Conner.
Sunday March 8
1:14 p.m.: Road kill – There was a dead possum in the road near Third and State streets in La Conner.
