Very bad idea – Deputies are looking into a case involving a man who was said to be seriously beaten near the restrooms at the La Conner Marina over the weekend in a crime that was never reported to law enforcement.
The man was reportedly beaten by teens who were in the area playing hacky sack.
The problem here is that there are now vigilantes out looking for teens and have apparently decided that only skateboarders play hacky sack and that is who they’re looking for.
The Sheriff’s Office does not tolerate vigilantism.
Anytime someone is a crime victim or witnesses a crime, 911 needs to be called immediately so law enforcement officers can deal with the matter appropriately.
People settling scores on their own is not the way to deal with crime or suspicious activity.
