2:28 p.m .: Mail theft – Swinomish Tribal Police had someone turn in opened mail that is believed to have been addressed to the Swinomish Tax Authority post office box at La Conner Post Office. At least three taxpayers were identified, therefore anyone who mailed a payment to the Swinomish Tax Authority around June 18 should confirm that their payment was received.
3:17 p.m .: Found property – A prescription stolen in a burglary that occurred on the Swinomish Reservation was found in the parking lot of Conway Feed inConway.
Wednesday June 24
6:25 a.m .: Broken window – A La Conner woman called to report that her vehicle’s driver door window had been broken out. When deputies contacted her, she said she learned that her husband had broken it accidentally.
8:12 a.m .: Traffic hazard – A hitch detached from a semi truck at the roundabout inConway. Washington State Patrol took care of it.
1:53 p.m .: Please check – Someone reported that they saw a person carrying a knife near theRainbowBridge in La Conner. The one with the knife wasn’t threatening anyone.
6:05 p.m .: Hot dog – Someone reported that a dog had been left in a car for 45 minutes near Centre and N. 4th streets in La Conner, but did not appear distressed. The vehicle was gone when deputies arrived.
Thursday June 25
8:06: Dumpster theft – It was considered a theft of services when someone dropped off a load in a dumpster atConwayElementary School. The license plate number given to the deputies did not match the description of the suspect vehicle so the dumpster bandit is still on the lam.
Friday June 26
12:06 p.m .: Panhandlers – A vehicle turned up twice at a home onFir Island Road nearConway and the homeowner didn’t know the man and woman who drove up asking for gas money.
Saturday June 27
6:39 a.m .: Rotten trick – A young La Conner driver discovered that two tires on their vehicle had been cut and flattened when it was parked onChannel Drive the night before.
10:49 a.m .: Alcohol problem – Deputies contacted an intoxicated man at the tribal property on S.First Street in La Conner. He walked home with a friend.
5:48 p.m .: Hot dogs – Someone reported that two dogs were locked in a car onMorris Street in La Conner. The car was gone when the deputy arrived.
Sunday June 28
2:23 p.m .: Alcohol problem – An intoxicated person was given a ride home forMorris Street in downtown La Conner.
Monday June 29
6:58 a.m .: Bucket guy – A caller reported that a man was walking around carrying a bucket on S. 4th Street in La Conner. Deputies learned he was in hoping to pick some wild black berries that grow all over PioneerPark.
