Tuesday Aug 4

7:14 a.m .: Not welcome – A woman who was on notice to stay out of Pioneer Market in La Conner showed up there. When a deputy arrived, she was gone so a citation was sent to her in the mail for criminal trespass.

11:08 a.m .: Drunk driver – Someone tipped a La Conner deputy that a man who appeared to be inebriated was getting ready to drive away from the La Conner Post Office. Deputies found the pickup truck being driven erratically and very slowly through town. When the driver was stopped, deputies could smell the alcohol on him. The 70-year-old man was arrested for DUI and his truck was towed.

Thursday Aug 6

9:06 p.m .: Stolen bike – A woman left her bicycle outside herMorris Street business in La Conner at about 4 p.m. When she returned three hours later, the bike was missing. It was later recovered by Swinomish Police on the Swinomish Reservation.

Saturday Aug 8

12:56 a.m .: Hide and Seek – A group of children playing on S. 2nd Street in La Conner were warned to stay off of private property.

2:56 a.m .: False Alarm – An alarm at El Gitano in La Conner revealed an open door, but nothing inside was disturbed.

Sunday Aug 9

7:25 p.m .: Found Bike – A deputy found a bicycle hidden in some blackberry bushes on Park Street in La Conner. As the deputy was investigating, he was contacted by the owner, who was on 1st street and reported a missing bicycle. A short time later the bicycle was returned its owner and how it got into the bushes onPark Street remains a mystery.

Wednesday Aug 12

7:19 p.m .: Shoplifting – A woman ran from clerks at Pioneer Market in La Conner who caught her stuffing two liquor bottles into her purse. If deputies don’t catch up with her in person, she’ll be cited via mail.

10:21 p.m .: Lascivious Art – Kids were seen drawing X-rated body parts in sidewalk chalk at the corner of 1st and Morris streets in La Conner. Deputies couldn’t locate the young artists, and the town’s Public Works Department obliterated their creations.

Thursday Aug 13

7:25 a.m .: Not eco-green – Someone spray-painted parts of the La Conner skate park green. Deputies will be conducting more patrols in the area to cut down on the unauthorized painting.

Saturday Aug 15

1:32 a.m .: Loud argument – A mother and daughter were arguing, 900 blockMaple Avenue, in La Conner. The daughter was gone by the time law deputies arrived and there had been no assault.

9:08 a.m .: Theft – Someone cut the padlock on the cash box at the La Conner Marina parking lot and stole envelopes with money. Video surveillance is being reviewed.
