Monday, Aug 24

12:27 p.m.: Accident – A Mercedes SUV struck a rock embankment near the entrance toPioneerPark onPioneer Parkway before skidding down the road into a ditch. The driver was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. For photos, check out last week’s issue.

12:46 p.m.: Missing Phone – A phone was lost at Pioneer Market in La Conner.

12:52 p.m.: Found Gas Can – A red gas can, but unfortunately no phone, was found near the La Conner side ofRainbowBridge.

1:12 p.m.: Fender bender – A driver hit another vehicle without realizing it outside El Gitano in La Conner.

11:19 p.m.: Furious feline – A cat was unhappy about being locked in a house onRainier Street in La Conner. It took its anger out on the neighbors by howling through the open window.

Tuesday, Aug 25

7:02 a.m.: Oops – Someone accidentally called 911 onMaple Avenue in La Conner.

11:22 a.m.: Fire and advice – Police advised employees at a business near the intersection of 6th and Morris Streets in La Conner to stop extinguishing their cigarettes in the bark outside of their building, after it caused several small fires.

Wednesday, Aug 26

5:10 p.m.: Annoying – A caller reported someone in front of them was repeatedly slamming on their brakes around Dodge Valley Road on Pleasant Ridge, but they were unable to provide a license plate number.

10:58 p.m.: Argument – Two people, 900 blockMaple Avenue in La Conner, got into a heated conversation over the ownership of some jumper cables.

Thursday, Aug 27

4:23 a.m.: Suspicious – A mysterious and sinister seeming vehicle onChannel Drive turned out to be someone working for a neighbor.

Friday, Aug 28

2:59 a.m.: Suspicious Redux – Another mysterious and sinister seeming vehicle on Fir Island Road turned out to be a newspaper delivery person.

11:12 p.m.: Dozer – Someone fell asleep in their car listening to the radio near the corner of 1st and Morris streets in La Conner. They were heading home, which was nearby.

Sunday, Aug 30

1:42 a.m.: Found – An officer found a set of keys and a cane at the La Conner Post Office.

1:48 p.m.: Ride – An intoxicated person outside the Swinomish Yacht Club in La Conner was given a ride home.

Monday, Aug 31

9:29 a.m.: Burglary – Someone broke into a post office box at the La Conner post office.

9:51 a.m.: Returned – The aforementioned keys were returned to their rightful owner at the La Conner Post Office. The person did not want the cane, however.
