ROBERT K. EDGETT

Robert K. Edgett, Jr., 60, a longtime resident of Skagit Valley, passed away at age 60 at Island Hospital in Anacortes on Monday, August 24, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Oak Harbor on September 23, 1954 to Robert K. and Donna C. Edgett.

He graduated from La Conner High School with the class of 1973. Robert married Sarah J. Herrold, January 19, 1974 and was employed by Publishers/Anacortes Plywood until 1982 when he and Sarah started dairy farming.

In 1996, they retired from dairy farming, and he was employed at Washington Alder, LLC until his retirement in 2011.

Robert was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed a lifetime of hunting and fishing with friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; two daughters, Eliza VanPelt and Laura George and her husband Brian; three grandsons, Murl (Vince) VanPelt, IV, Mason VanPelt and Michael George; and numerous other family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

We express our sincere thanks to Dr. Kim and the staff at Merle Cancer Care Center as well as the staff at Island Hospital for the exceptional care displayed.

A potluck style celebration of life will be held at the family farm on September 12 at 2 p.m. Bring a chair, a side dish or dessert and a story to share.
