REYNOLD "REY" GIETZEN

Our loving father, La Conner resident Reynold “Rey” Gietzen, died and went home to be with the Lord at age 97 on Tuesday, January 26.

He was born on August 24, 1918 in Glen Ullin, North Dakota.

Rey and his wife Margaret owned and operated City Foods grocery store in Seattle. They loved traveling the U.S. in their motor home and taking trips to Maui.

Upon retiring they moved to La Conner and enjoyed the beauty of this area. After his wife of 77 years passed away, Rey moved into La Conner Retirement Inn, where he made a lot of new friends and enjoyed outings with his family.

Rey will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a gentle, caring, compassionate soul with a great sense of humor.

Rey was a great role model for his children: Rey, Sr., Roger and daughter Linda Holt.

Dad will be in our hearts forever.

Special thanks to Dr. Murray and staff and the La Conner Retirement Inn.
