KWAMI TAHA

Former La Conner resident Kwami Taha died on Friday, February 17 surrounded by his family.

Kwami was born in Harlem, New York on April 11, 1937 and led a remarkable life and had many friends in La Conner, where he had lived during his retirement years.

He moved to Phoenix two years ago to enjoy the warmer climate and be in the company of friends he’d known most of his life.

People who loved Kwami include Shani Taha of La Conner, his wife for more than 40 years, his son Khalim of Spokane, his son Kimathi of Auburn and his daughter Zahra of Detroit.
