10:26 p.m.: Wrong island – A deputy assisted lost motorist onFirIsland with directions toOakHarbor, which is located onWhidbey Island.
Tuesday Feb 21
9:24 a.m.: Cash box raid – Someone tried to break into the drop-off cash box at the La Conner public boat launch onSherman Street in La Conner. No money was taken, but there was some damage to the cash box. The unknown would-be thief is at large.
12:14 p.m.: Mail box hit – A resident’s mailbox onLa Conner Whitney Road was damaged. Again, no suspect.
5:32 p.m.: Found bike – A red Diamond Back bicycle was found near the intersection ofCaledonia and Third streets in La Conner.
Friday Feb 24
5:35 p.m.: Butchering – People were butchering a deer at apartments, 900 blockMaple Avenue.
Saturday Feb 25
9:06 a.m.: Odd signal – Someone reported that a boat made a five-whistle blast on the Swinomish Channel, which could indicate danger or just confusion. Deputies were unable to locate a boater having a problem.
2:22 p.m.: Suspicious – There was a report that someone was taking down a fence at a home onPark Street in La Conner. It appears the deconstruction is being done by the owner.
