Your independent hometown award-winning newspaper
On behalf of the staff and students of La Conner School District, I would like to sincerely thank the voters for your support of our recent levy. The outstanding support of our citizens allows us to continue to offer amazing opportunities to the children of this community.
Through the generosity of this community, we are able to continue to have small class sizes in our primary grades, to offer challenging classes for high school students, to recruit, train and retain outstanding teachers, to have para educators in classrooms, and to offer many after school activities and athletics to our students.
As it’s been said, it takes a village to educate a child. I appreciate seeing you whether it’s in the classrooms with children or in the stands at games. I welcome you to become actively involved in our schools. Each of you has a special talent or skill that you could share with the children of La Conner. Perhaps you have an interest in math, science or reading – WE NEED YOU!
The opportunities to volunteer are endless as you could tutor, listen to a child read, help coach a youth team, be a guest speaker about a trip you took or the job you do, help with a science project, work at a track meet, teach chess, knitting, quilting, or teach anything you enjoy. Children like to share what they know and truly love to hear what you know. If you are interested, stop by or call the school office.
Again, thanks for ALL you do to support our children! We know we need to continue to spend your dollars wisely and we urge you to be a part of the budget process. Watch for information about this on the school website.
