Wednesday, April 5
1:50 a.m.: Buddy system – A caller from Maple Ave., La Conner wanted deputies to check on her friend, but deputies couldn’t locate the friend.
3:06 p.m.: 911 Hang up – No one was in sight when deputies responded to a 9-11 call from the pay phone next to the public restrooms on First Street, La Conner.
10:02 p.m.: Disappearing DUI – A person was reported driving intoxicated in a pickup from the La Conner Tavern on First Street and headed out of town. The deputy located the truck parked in town but not the driver.
Thursday, April 6
5:10 p.m.: Open door – Deputies checked the Museum of Northwest Art on First Street, La Conner after a door was left unlocked. Everything was fine.
Friday, April 7
8:25 a.m.: Stolen bunny – A thief stole a 7-inch tall Easter rabbit ornament from the front porch of a house on Caledonia Street, La Conner. There are no current suspects and the value of the bunny is about $20.
5:38 p.m.: Flapping sail – At the La Conner Marina, a caller reported a sail coming loose from a docked sailboat. The Marina was contacted.
Saturday, April 8
10:41 a.m.: Bad driver – Deputies located a driver on Best Road near Rexville, after they were reported swerving while driving. The driver was cited for a suspended license but no impairment was detected.
1:11 p.m.: False alarm – A lady at a home on Fir Island Road, near Conway was checked on by deputies after someone reported that she called making “despondent comments.” She said she hadn’t called anyone.
11:33 p.m.: Burglary – Miscellaneous items including oil lamps were stolen from a van near the intersection of Morris and N. Fourth streets. The back window of the van had been popped out, showing the most likely entry point. The break-in occurred sometime between 7 and 11:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 9
1:52 p.m.: Motorcycle crash – A motorcycle rider was hurt after a collision with a car on Rexville Grange and Best roads at Rexville. The rider was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening leg injury.
2:36 p.m.: Dispute – A lady in a wheelchair and a man walking behind her on Whatcom Street, La Conner were arguing. Deputies contacted the two at their nearby residence and they denied any assault but admitted to arguing. No crime or charges.
Monday, April 10
8:22 a.m.: Car crash – A vehicle went off the road on First Island Road, La Conner and hit the guard rail near the Snow Goose Produce. The man driving was not injured.
9:04 a.m.: Past curfew – A person was reported “overdue” to return at a residence, 900 block Maple Ave., La Conner.
9:57 a.m.: Vehicle prowl – A vehicle was reportedly broken into on Calhoun Road, east of La Conner. No other info at this time.
