An old man with Stage 4 cancer lives at the top of our apartment building in La Conner. It is a steep climb to his porch, but he manages. Someone else also managed this climb.
This old man had just planted his flower garden in his Coffee Mug Planter, as he does each year. His choice of bright geraniums fill the cup and cheers him up. This morning he found the planter gone. The flowers thrown on the ground below.
Whoever stole up the stairs and took his property will, never be found to confront with this petty theft, I know that.
Maybe the guilty party will read this. Maybe whoever received it as “gift” will read this. Maybe a neighbor will see a very large coffee mug planter on someone’s porch and will see this.
I wish the thief joy in his cruel act. If you received this item as a Mother’s Day gift, know just how precious it was to someone from whom it was stolen. Please show this story to the person who “gifted” it to you.
Shame on this act and on this thief.
