Monday May 22
11:36 p.m.: Noise – Loud music coming from a vehicle was bothering folks at 900 block Maple Ave., La Conner. It was gone when deputies arrived.
Tuesday May 23
2:04 a.m.: Early barker – A German shepherd dog was up before the chickens on Fir Island near Conway, and the neighbors didn’t appreciate the barking. When deputies arrived, the dog was outside, but kept his trap shut while the cops were on scene.
1:18 p.m.:Question – Somebody wanted questions about the eviction process, 900 block Maple Ave., La Conner.
4:44 p.m.: Drunk driver – There was a report of a possible drunk driver on Fir Island Road near Conway, but deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.
7:48 p.m.:Scam – A Conway resident was selling a prom dress online and got a money order for $560, which was way more than the asking price. The “buyer” asked the seller to keep $60 for the dress, and take another $20 for gas and to send the rest of the money to an address in Texas. The dress seller smelled a rat and wisely reported the attempted fraud.
10:46 p.m.: Windstorm – Deputies and fire department personnel cleared fallen trees from the road near Pleasant Ridge.
Wednesday May 24
3:27 a.m.: Fire – Deputies responded to a house fire just north of La Conner. When they arrived on scene, along with Swinomish Police officers, the place was full of smoke and law enforcement located a woman inside and pulled her out. CPR was administered to get her breathing again and she was air lifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
10:27 a.m.: Cyber bullies – A parent reported that their child was being harassed on social media and La Conner school officials were notified.
4:18 p.m.: Looked suspicious – A passerby reported that a man with tattoos entered a car on Morris Street in La Conner and appeared to be stealing items. Deputies determined that he was the owner of the car.
5:31 p.m.: Strange call – A county employee reported receiving what seemed like a suspicious call about a house fire earlier in the day north of La Conner. Deputies determined the call was from an employer of one of the people injured in the fire.
6:12 p.m.: Put it in your wake – Someone kept making harassing phone calls about a prior boating accident at La Conner Marina.
Thursday Mary 25
12:37 p.m.: Cold case – A family member allegedly took a motor vehicle without permission from the Conway area.
2:20 p.m.: Sick driver – Deputies found a woman in her vehicle on the side of La Conner Whitney Road north of La Conner. She was incoherent and medical aid personnel determined she was having a medical problem and she was taken to a hospital.
Saturday May 27
2:55 a.m.: Varmints – A caller in the Conway area reported people on their property wanted deputies to show up to “make them scatter.” Deputies responded, but didn’t find anyone.
2:06 p.m.: Theft – A thief apparently took a piece of merchandise from a First Street shop in La Conner. There are no suspects.
10:33 p.m.: Parked car – There was a report of a suspicious vehicle with somebody inside parked behind Pioneer Market in La Conner. Deputies contacted the occupant, but there was nothing criminal occurring.
