Monday June 26

12:07 p.m.: Bumming a light – Somebody stole a bunch of cigarette lighters from the Shell station on La Conner Whitney Road and Hwy. 20 The thief fled and has since been identified.

4:55 p.m.: Be warned – A La Conner resident called to inform the police his ex-girlfriend might petition for a court order against him.

Tuesday June 27

11:24 a.m.: Doggy despair – Somebody on Morris Street reported a possible case of dog neglect.

3:14 p.m.: Big rig connec-tion – Two semi-trucks were involved in an accident on La Conner Whitney Road when one of the semis, exiting a store parking lot, drove into the other semi, stopped at an intersection. No injuries reported.

Wednesday June 28

7:05 a.m.: Big ticket – Reports of ongoing speeding at S. Basin Street and N. Third Street, La Conner, led to the stopping of a speeding vehicle. The driver was cited for suspended driver’s license.

6:11 p.m.: Erratic driver – There was a call on Downey and La Conner Whitney roads for erratic driving, but the deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

10:20 p.m.: Early fireworks Pt. 1 – Fireworks were reported on Main Street outside Conway Pub and Eatery. The person lighting fireworks was doing so within the legally permitted time.

Thursday June 29

9:10 p.m.: Early fireworks Pt. 2 – Another complaint of fireworks near Conway Pub and Eatery. Police explained firework laws for Skagit County to the caller.

Friday June 30

10:09 a.m.: License lost – Someone lost their out-of-state driver’s license at Morris and N. Third Streets, La Conner.

11:53 a.m.: Found guns – A man found two firearms in his vacant rental property on Second Street, La Conner.

1:36 p.m.: License found – A wallet containing identification was finally found at Nasty Jack’s Antiques.

6:23 p.m.: Strong thief – A 300-400-pound brass bell was taken from a vacant property on Downey Road, La Conner.

Saturday July 1

12:16 a.m.: Worried wife – A Pleasant Ridge woman reported her husband missing for over eight hours. Turned out, the husband had fallen asleep.

9:56 a.m.: Animal problem – An aggressive dog was reported on N. Second Street, La Conner. The town code enforcement officer had already been notified and the caller wanted the Sheriff’s Office to know, as well.

11:05 a.m.: Check-up – A caller requested deputies check on a Park Street resident in La Conner. The person was just fine.

Monday July 3

5:04 a.m.: Escaped boat – A fishing boat broke loose from its moorage and was found beached along the La Conner waterfront. It was determined to be a Swinomish commercial fishing boat and was returned to its dock.
