Clear your calendar for Art’s Alive! 33rd annual show, November 3-5 at La Conner’s Maple Hall. Rub elbows with the artists and enjoy live music, wine and hors d’oeuvres at the Friday artists reception, 5-9 p.m. Media range from paper, through glass, sculpture and painting.
The town will be swimming in art, with the invitational show, open show and merchant exhibits Saturday and Sunday. Artists demonstrations and live music will continue at Maple Hall. Culinary art is included, so appetites needed.
The Skagit artists juried art show is at the La Conner Civic Garden Club. Northwest artists are featured at 21 La Conner merchants and galleries, including photographer Nancy Crowell at the Weekly News office. Find their hours in the brochure. Crowell’s art can be viewed starting November 3.
The town’s three museums have special attractions.
Plan to eat “Chowder by the Channel” at the La Conner middle school gym, 3-6 p.m. Saturday. Over 12 local restaurants are providing signature chowders to help the Kiwanis club raise funds for local children. Voting for best chowder is encouraged.
