ROBERT A. (BOB) WESTLAKE

Robert A. “Bob” Westlake, 93, of La Conner, WA passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, Jan. 03, 2018, at Home Place Memory Care in Burlington, WA. Bob was born on June 12, 1924 in Kansas City, MO, the son of J.A. Westlake and Maude R. Westlake.

After high school graduation Bob enlisted in the Army Air Corp, flying as a Navigator/ Bombardier in B-25’s through-out the South Pacific and Southeast Asia. Returning home from the war Bob earned his degree in Mechanical Engineer-ing from the University of Washington.

In 1948 he married Patricia Jane Pape of Sedro Woolley and began his new career in San Francisco with an Engineering and Construction Co. Bob and family all returned to Bothell, WA. in 1970, where he worked in the Co. home office until his retirement. Bob and Pat moved to Shelter Bay in La Conner, WA. in 1993 to enjoy retirement and numerous activities such as boating, flying, and helping others within the community repairing their computers. Bob and Pat became members of the ‘Chinooks’ boat club, and enjoyed many summers cruising with their boating friends throughout Washington and Canada.

He is survived by his brother George R. Westlake in Seattle, son David and daughter Cheryl, in La Conner, and his cherished grandchildren Katherine, Jonathan, and Mary in Seattle.

In lieu of a memorial service, it was Bob’s wishes that interested parties make a donation to The Noah Center at http://www.thenoahcenter.org if desired, in his remembrance. All arrangements for his care have been made at Evans Chapel in Anacortes, WA.
