LILA LONG

Lila Long, aged almost 92, of 400 Gilkey Road, Burlington, WA, passed away at Skagit Valley Hospital on March 22, 2018 after a two-month struggle with respiratory related health issues. Lila was a 34-year resident of Skagit County, moving here in 1984. She was born March 28, 1926 in Canton China. From China, she moved to Canada and then to the United States. Lila was a housewife and talented artist who painted in multiple media and was always learning new techniques.

She was predeceased by Luke, her husband of 60 years, and her daughter Kirsten. She is survived by daughters: Elaine (Norman Baker), Denise Long, and April (Steve Wiese); step grandchildren: Patrick Baker and Kathleen (Brett Benger); and grandchildren: Alexander Chapman; Keri, Jen (Michael Iverson), and Tanya Milder; Matthew and James Greathouse; Vivian and Ava Wiese; step greatgrandchildren: Kaila and Kailer Benger and great grandchildren: Isaiah, Cara and Merrick Greathouse; Emi and Anthony Iverson.

Please join us at Lila’s Celebration of Life, Sunday, April 8 at 2 p.m., at Creekside Continuing Care Community, 400 Gilkey Road, Burlington, WA in the Eagle’s Nest.

The Family of Lila graciously thanks the doctors and staff of Skagit Valley Hospital for their excellent care. As Lila was an avid reader, the family suggests donations be made in her memory to Friends of the Library Endowment in La Conner.
