Our beloved grandmother passed away Sunday, April 1st, 2018 at the age of 88. She is survived by her 4 grandchildren (Teresa, Brian, Reanne, Jennifer) 10 great-grandchildren (Anthony, Kaiser, Braiden, KJ, Sabrina, Alistair, Annabelle, Pearin, Teddy, Cedric) sister Carol, daughter Kathy, son Ken, stepdaughter Evelyn, stepson Martin and many, many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly. Pre-deceased by her husband, Lowell Viken.
During the many years she and our grandfather lived in La Conner she was an active member of the La Conner Methodist Church and an avid supporter of local businesses through her enjoyment of shopping and dining. She could cook, bake, yodel, play the piano, shop and laugh! She loved bright colors and had a fun sock collection. She offered assistance to many less fortunate with no expectations in return and no desire for recognition. She loved unconditionally and did not put a limit on her support, patience and love.
Despite her grandchildren and great-grandchildren being geographically spread wide and far, she was connected to them all and acutely aware of each birthday and life celebration! While people throw around the word “fair” often, our grandmother was exceptionally fair to everyone she met and everyone in her life. She treated everyone equally with respect and kindness. She was exactly what you dream a grandmother would be. We will love her and miss her beyond measure. Rest in peace Grandma.
