Looking through the long lens of time

“Double Exposure: Edward S. Curtis, Marianne Nicolson, Tracy Rector, Will Wilson,” is at the Seattle Art Museum till September 9.

On the 150th anniversary of American photographer Edward Curtis’s birth, the exhibition explores the legacy of his historic portraits of Native Americans from 21st-century perspectives, focusing attention on Native and First Nations voices and works by indigenous artists Marianne Nicolson, Tracy Rector, and Will Wilson.
