Jim worked for me, but was more of a friend and member of the family than anything else. He was able to fix most anything and always made time to stop by to see if I needed anything done. While he was he here we would talk music, art, friends, animals and politics. He took good care of my house and my animals when I traveled, and he developed a long-standing relationship with Soochie, my old Siamese cat and Grande Dame of the property. He was known among the many people that he helped as a kind and cheerful man who lived a simple life. He made a difference in his own way, and I will be among the many who will miss him greatly.

Jimmy Schermerhorn was one of the most kind, thoughtful, and dear humans I have had the pleasure to know. I always kept Pepsi in the refrigerator to sit and share with Jimmy as he stopped by regularly. Talking politics was a favorite topic!
My kitty, Lucky Fluffy, could be anywhere in the house or yard and only moments after Jimmy arrived he could hear Jimmy and be on his lap. Jimmy would say “hi little buddy.”
Jimmy often house sat for us and looked after my elderly Mother who lived next door. She just loved him.
I could go on and on because it is very easy to have loving memories of Jimmy.
We are all fortunate to have known him. I will miss him.
