Peggy Hart Rush passed away at the age of 92 on June 27, 2018. Peggy was born on July 12, 1925 in Beaumont TX. She and her husband Dick were married in 1944. Dick’s job at Boeing took them to Wichita, New Orleans, Huntsville, AL and back to Bellevue WA in 1969. Peggy taught 1st grade on Mercer Island until she retired in 1986, and then moved to La Conner.
Peggy and Dick enjoyed traveling to Europe, Thailand, Australia/New Zealand, Peru, and Mexico. Much of their free time was spent with friends boating around the San Juan Islands, complete with mishaps.
Undoubtedly Peggy’s greatest joys were her family, friends and church, where she sang in the choir and served as a deacon. Her strong Christian values fostered her positive expression of love, humor, optimism and good will. She regularly voiced her appreciation for the beauty and wonder of everyday life.
Peggy is survived by her children Rick Rush of Huntsville AL, Vicki Romero of Federal Way WA and Donna Carlson of Sammamish WA; her eight grandchildren; and her five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Dick Rush of La Conner WA.
Her Memorial Service will be held on July 19th at 4pm at the Mt Vernon Presbyterian Church.
