Latsinova for appellate court

Editor:

It is my pleasure to write this letter in support of Rita Latsinova for the Washington State Court of Appeals. She’s running for the open seat that’s designated for Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan Counties.

My wife and I previously owned an inn in La Conner for many years. For the past 33 years, I have been a litigation attorney with a large firm in Spokane, and my practice has included multiple appearances in both state and federal appellate courts.

I first met Rita in 1999 in connection with the defense of a multi-million dollar commercial dispute which spanned a period of years through both the trial court and the court of appeals. Rita’s ability to analyze extremely complex facts and legal issues were instrumental to our successful defense in that case. Above all, she maintains the highest ethical standards.

She is passionate about her profession. Through her pro bono work on cases for the Northwest Women’s Law Center (now Legal Voice), Northwest Immigrant Rights Project and the American Civil Liberties Union, she has demonstrated a compassion and commitment to the concept that justice should truly be for all.

Rita’s intelligence, experience, integrity and compassion make her exceptionally well qualified. Please join me in supporting Rita for Judge of the Court of Appeals, Division I, District 3. Vote for Rita on August 7th.

Respectfully,

Stephen Farnell
