Joseph Glen Menish was born on December 29, 1929 in Elma, Washington to Joseph and Bertha Menish.
Alzheimer’s Disease took his life on December 10, 2018, with family by his side.
Joe graduated from Oakville High School in 1948 and joined the National Guard right after graduation.
He owned a service station in Lynnwood for many years before going into the timber business full time.
Joe enjoyed anything with an engine: cars, boats, racing limited hydroplanes and he had a special affinity for airplanes.
He was a private pilot who loved to fly.
He was an outdoorsman and avid reader, especially books and magazines about airplanes.
Joe also enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and travelling with family and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bertha Menish, and brothers Bill and Ron Menish. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Judyann Menish; sister Marlene LaFave; his sons from his first marriage, Joseph Menish Jr. (Ramona), Douglas Menish (Jodie); his step-children, whom he loved as his own; Janita Aalto, Christopher Reichert (Lana), and Kamela Tuengel; grandchildren: Paul, Jesse, Marcus, Lexie, Jessica, Kristin, Michael, Dean, Christianna, Joey and Cash.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, 2:00 pm at the La Conner United Methodist Church, 601 S 2nd St, La Conner, Wa.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Northwest or the La Conner Library Foundation.
