JOHN FEICHTINGER

John Franz Feichtinger of La Conner, Washington (1965 – 2018), beloved father, son, brother, and friend, left us too soon.

John was born in Seattle, grew up in Ballard and Kent before he moved to his chosen home of the beautiful Skagit Valley. An unfailingly kind man, John’s love of nature grew from the forests and waters he dearly cherished. In recent years, John was thrilled to explore the coastlines and waters in Alaska, where he found incredible joy. With pockets full of friendship and dog treats, whether it was someone in need, a pool game, a trail to explore, a cat to secretly friend, or a party with oysters, John was there.

John is survived by his daughter Megan, mother Ilona Saray, father Alfred (Virginia), sisters Deborah and Tana (Ray Petersen), former wife Sam, family across the US, Canada and Europe, and hundreds of dear friends. John will be profoundly missed by many.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Shelter Bay Clubhouse in La Conner, January 13, 2019, 1 - 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to talk openly and honestly with friends and family about depression. Donations in John’s memory can be made to NAMI, the Arbor Day Foundation, or a registered non-profit of your choice.
