Michael Thomas Good (Mike) a lifelong resident of Skagit County passed away January 4, 2019, surrounded by loving family.
Born in 1933, to Ron and Mary Good, Mike lived a quiet life on Fir Island (Conway) working the family farm. He attended elementary school in Conway. Many remember Mike, in younger days, riding around the island on his bicycle, visiting with neighbors or riding to the bread outlet to buy treats for his chickens.
Mike loved the holidays, especially Christmas when he would decorate the farm with lights and a big Santa. He loved practical jokes and the gifts he gave would be hidden inside a coffee can or egg carton, wrapped in newspaper and tied up with twine.
Mike was a tall quiet man who rarely initiated a conversation, but he loved telling jokes. He would often surprise listeners with a new story. He enjoyed wearing funny T-shirt’s and making people smile. His sense of humor was a way of connecting to those around him.
Mikes life was brilliantly simple; he understood and found joy in everyday events. His passing serves as a reminder that life is not about worldly possessions- but about making an effort to enjoy each day and making somebody smile.
Mike is survived by his sister Lou Lovelace, nieces and nephews Kathleen and Ken Bacon, James and Kimberly Lovelace, Kimberly Good Rubenstein, Jana Balliet, Tracy and Richard Eutenier, Virginia and Tom Vlahovich, Patsy Good and many great and great great nephews, nieces and cousins. Special recognition to Jerry and Tina Good, Kelly and Kathy Good, Larry and Judy Good who showed their love for Mike by understanding what was important to him and making his holidays specials.
Graveside services at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery are planned for Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1 p.m .; reception will follow.
