More thanks for pavilion 'fun' raiser

A big shout out to our community for making the Conner Waterfront Park “Fun Raiser” at Hellam’s Vineyard last Friday night a huge success. Special recognition goes to Ollie Iverson and Ken Lee for their efforts in organizing the event. Big thanks to the Town’s staff for their administrative support and to Scott Thomas, Town administrator for staffing the collections at the door. All five Parks Commissioners were there to support the event.

The desserts provided by La Conner School Culinary Club were awesome.

Thank you Jeff Hellam for providing the excellent Washington wines and the venue. We were delightfully serenaded by Dick Paynter, accompanied by Mayor Ramon Hayes on piano. Best of all, we had an opportunity to catch up with old friends and made some new ones over a glass of wine.

The auction was the highlight with all three items going for well over $1,000 each. Special thanks to all who donated to the Park but were unable to attend the event.

Although the final accounting is not complete, we think we met or are very close to meeting the goal of funding the pavilion (picnic shelter) at Conner Waterfront Park.

This yet again confirms why we love this Town!!
