Process for selling Kirsch property important

I agree with Linda Talman, Mary Lam and Bob Raymond.

Public process has not been followed in this matter. In addition to Linda’s comments about lack of consultation with the Planning Commission, there was no consultation with the Parks Commission. Their minutes do not contain any reference to the sale of the Kirsch property.

Let’s start all over, and give proper notice for a public hearing, as you stated at the last meeting. In the meantime, please place on hold the listing of the property with Dick Nord. You can do that, with Council approval, at the next meeting.

I contacted Ben Cooksie at DNR, Sedro Woolley (360 854 2834). He said that he was not aware that the property was for sale. Chip Hall has the lease on HA 22-002675 in front of lots 1 thru 3 Johanson’s First Addition, and has been trying to lease the HA in front of Lot 4, the Kirsch property. Cooksie says Chip has first right to that lease. The public should be made aware of this fact, and should be aware that about 18 of the 57 pilings are in the harbor area and will have to be removed. Who’s obligation is that?
