Helen Price Johnson for state senate

We have an exceptional candidate running this year for state senator for the 10th LD: Helen Price Johnson. If I were to list the qualifications I would want in a senator representing our district, she would fulfill each and every one.

Helen is experienced. She has been our county commissioner in Island County for the past three terms. She came into office at a time of the recession as Island County’s first ever elected woman commissioner. Helen had to be strong to hit the ground running, plowing through tough times of the recession with steadiness and determination. Since that first term she has continued to work hard for all the people of Island County. She has been fortunate to have had a hand in working with both state-wide and regional boards, as well as serving as President of Washington Association of Counties, invaluable and exceptional experiences for a new state senator to bring to office.

Helen’s work speaks loudly regarding her accomplishments and readiness to bring our rural area needs to the state level. As a commissioner she has looked at the whole picture when it comes to individual issues and made every effort to come to solutions amenable to most. Some of her top concerns are healthcare, education, the environment, homelessness and affordable housing, small businesses, veterans and rural area needs. She understands that concerns of constituents are multifaceted and often have many implications. She will work for solutions that are good for all of us.

We are fortunate to have such a well prepared, concerned and knowledgeable candidate from our district. I hope you will join me in electing Helen Price Johnson to be our next state senator. I encourage you to go to helenpricejohnson.org to learn more.
