Rebuttal of Stokes

In the July 22 Weekly News, I see that Ms. Stokes responded to my letter. This is getting a bit silly, but the issue of a candidate’s worthiness or appropriateness for a given political position based upon his prior performance and behavior is a very serious subject.

I will state that I have no vested interest in any of the current crop of candidates, while obviously Ms. Stokes, as Mr. Bruch’s campaign manager, does!

I raised the Bruch candidacy because of what I witnessed and heard a few years back, especially the incident where Mr. Bruch yelled at and scared an older lady (an innocent third party to this supposed eviction) to the point of her calling the sheriff. I was advised of the incident by phone by the store’s proprietor, Mr. McGee, on the day of the occurrence. It bothered me greatly and I immediately called a “higher” authority in the town government to report the incident where an official of the town should not be bullying a citizen. To my dismay and to my knowledge, no action was taken by the higher authority.

As for my alleged dislike and disrespect for my fellow ex-New Yorker, President Trump: absolutely true! I have no respect for a bully which in my opinion is his only talent (?).

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge one accurate statement made in Ms. Stokes letter. She is correct: the location was not the Pier 7 building. It was the Limedock.
