Make history: Tell Museum your coronavirus story

The Skagit County Historical Museum is tasked with preserving and presenting the wonderful history of our County. While we often think of history as something that happened many years ago, in reality what happened yesterday is history! So, our plan is to capture your story and the stories of many other Skagitonians as we navigate this time of Coronavirus. It is historic and will be discussed and researched by generations to come.

To gather these stories, we want your answers to the five questions below. For purposes of demographics, we are asking some questions about the person answering the questions. This information will be used to evaluate the diversity of responses we receive. We are also asking for names and contact information, but you have the option of having your answers be anonymous. Contact information is needed in case we need to ask any clarifying questions. The information gathered will become part of our research library collection and may be used in exhibits, publications or future research requests.

The questions:

1. Please describe your general experience during this time of COVID-19.

2. If you have been ill with the virus, please describe your symptoms, treatment and the length of your illness.

3. What can you say are five good things about staying home under these circumstances?

4. What are five challenging things about staying home under these circumstances?

5. What would you like to tell people 50 years from now about the COVID 19 pandemic of 2020? What do you think would be important for them to know?

In your response please include your name, age, sex, contact info and which town or rural area you live in. Please indicate whether you want your response to be anonymous. You can also call the Museum at (360) 466-3365 and ask for a survey to be sent to you via U.S. mail or email.

Please return your answer to these questions via snail mail to the Skagit County Historical Museum, P.O. Box 818, La Conner WA 98257 or send your reply to [email protected].

Thank for helping future generations understand the 2020 pandemic.
