We had a steady stream of people stop by the booths: Visitors who just saw the tents, someone who learned about the event from another place in town and lots of locals shopping.
There were 14 vendors with a good mix from birdhouses to wreaths. The vendors seemed pleased with the foot traffic and said they had good sales.
Kiwanis members underestimated the desire for daffodils. We ran out of flowers within the first hour or so of selling! We will have some daffodils for sale all this month if anyone was looking and disappointed. Buy at Stompin’ Grounds and Saturdays at the post office.
Fred Robinson from Shelter Bay won the canoe raffle and was delighted with it.
The cars were a sweet improv, I must say. It was a great, if unplanned, addition. The owners, “Bob” Ferari, David Curry and John Leaver, parked on Morris Street with their 1971 Porsche, 1938 (rare) Australian Ford UTE and 1940 Ford coupe.
All in all it was a very fun fundraiser for Kiwanis and good exposure for La Conner United. April 3 will be the community garage sale.
