If I ran the zoo

COVID-19 has been demanding social isolation, which is a real challenge for someone like me. But isolation does not mean stagnation and I have been blessed with a wonderful companion, my dog Rosie, who turns 1-year-old on April Fool’s Day. Rosie and I spend a lot of time driving around Skagit County admiring what a beautiful place we get to live in.

When I see something particularly stunning, I stop my car and take my iPhone out of my pocket and snap a picture, like the one you are looking at right now, which was taken at Lake Tyee near Concrete Feb. 9 at sunset.

Now it is your turn. I am asking our readers to share their own photographs for a contest entitled OhMySkagit!

There will be two categories. One is for photos of our beautiful surroundings. The other is for photos of the incredible animals we are blessed to see throughout the county, including everything from flocks of birds to fenced-in horses to family pets. Complete contest rules and guidelines will follow.
