Grateful for community support

Dear La Conner community and beyond:

Thank you for supporting the Rotary Club of La Conner’s annual tulip sales. The club sold nearly 8,000 bunches of tulips, more than the 2019 total.

What a fantastic comeback after 2020, when we were not able to hold this annual spring fundraiser to benefit our community.

As is so often the case with Rotary, this was truly a community endeavor. Washington Bulb Company partnered with us for our tulip supply, Thulen Farms provided cold storage for the boxes of blooms, Lafayette delivers and stores our Tulip Booths each year, and Tillinghast Postal provided thank you notes and a third site for sales. The Rotary Club of La Conner utilized 21 of our 37 members; they volunteered 281 hours of service for this project. I am grateful for each one of them and the job they did, as well as all our partners mentioned above.

Proceeds from the sales benefit local scholarships, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and our backpack food program for youth in the community.

Our club is very grateful for the generosity of all who were involved. Because of this very successful sale, our local and global projects will continue to be generously funded into upcoming years.

For the members of the Rotary Club of La Conner.

With gratitude,

Christi King, president
