Wednesday, June 9

3:55 a.m.: Fender bender – Non-reportable motor vehicle accident in parking lot of the Shell station. La Conner Whitney Rd., Greater La Conner.

4:14 p.m.: Bike taken away – Report of a stolen bicycle. Bike described as a 15-20 year old brown bicycle with a basket on the front. N. 3rd St. / Morris St., La Conner.

6:16 p.m.: Series of prowls – Vehicle prowl. Bay View Edison Rd., Bay View.

7:41 p.m.: Series of prowls – Vehicle prowl. Bay View Edison Rd., Bay View.

Deputies investigated 9 vehicle prowls that occurred at the south parking area of the Padilla Bay trailhead. The passenger window was broken on all 9 vehicles and items were stolen out of 3 vehicles. The stolen items included purses and credit cards. Deputies were alerted that some of the stolen credit cards had been used at the Burlington Fred Meyers. They are working with Fred Meyers loss prevention to try to identify a suspect.

“The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office strongly urges people using trailhead parking areas to not leave any personal items or valuables in their unattended vehicle or lock those items in a trunk if possible.”

Thursday, June 10

6:33 a.m.: Fire in the hole – Deputies responded to a suspicious fire in the La Conner Marina restroom. They determined the fire to be arson. After a thorough investigation, deputies developed a suspect who lived nearby. Deputies located the suspect riding a bicycle in the area and arrested him on an outstanding bench warrant and arson. The suspect was booked into the Skagit County Community Justice Center for arson 2nd degree and malicious mischief 3rd degree. N. 2nd St., La Conner.

Saturday, June 12

8:12 a.m.: ID gone – Caller requested a call regarding possible ID theft. Morris St., La Conner.

Sunday, June 13

3:33 p.m.: Another prowl – Caller reported a cold vehicle prowl, Window broken, nothing missing. Bay View Edison Rd., Bay View.

4:34 p.m.: Running dog – Report of a brown Lab running in the roadway. Chilberg / Best Rds., Greater La Conner.

Monday, June 14

8:58 a.m.: In town prowl – Caller reported a cold vehicle prowl. Nothing taken. Park St., La Conner.

9:44 a.m.: Prowler in town – Caller reported a cold vehicle prowl. S. 2rd St., La Conner.
